Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hematology/Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (08:00 - 16:30) Experience: 2 Years Minimum Experience Required License: Current Nursing License Required Certifications: BCLS Required Must-Have: Phlebotomy Skills Description: This position involves working in a classical hematology clinic. The clinic focuses on bleeding disorders, hemophilia, anemias, sickle cell disease, and DVTs. Malignant hematology or oncology patients will not be seen in this clinic. Registered Nurses are required to bring their own stethoscope. Phlebotomy skills are essential for this role. Responsibilities include: - Rooming patients and performing phlebotomy. - Central line care and assisting with bone marrow biopsies. - Administering vaccinations and conducting EKGs. - Phone triage and ensuring appropriate scheduling for patient infusions. - Providing patient education and case management support. The daily patient census is approximately 70. Chemotherapy and infusions are not carried out in this setting. Preferred experience includes working in an oncology clinic. Manual differentials are performed by lab personnel, not Registered Nurses. Candidates must be open to floating within the clinic’s operations. No call or weekend requirements are expected for this position.
