Work Environment

This is a remote position focused on outpatient therapy, allowing flexibility in your working hours while ensuring you can effectively work with clients. Your schedule will typically consist of flexible hours within the standard timeframe of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our virtual setup ensures that counseling is accessible to clients from the comfort of their homes, fostering an environment conducive to open discussions and healing.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients and their families to identify their needs and develop tailored family therapy plans.
• Engage in collaborative clinical discussions that drive the continuous improvement of treatment plans incorporating family-centered therapy interventions.
• Deliver comprehensive individual and group counseling sessions, as well as family therapy, ensuring sessions address the unique dynamics and needs of each family.
• Facilitate educational groups focused on topics surrounding substance misuse, mental health awareness, and improving family relationships.
• Maintain meticulous, timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans that meet regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to enhance treatment approaches and provide holistic care for clients.
• Identify opportunities for program improvement and actively participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of service delivery.
• Stay current with industry trends, guidelines, and ethical standards while maintaining all relevant certifications and licensure.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on clients dealing with substance misuse issues, as well as their families, which may include individuals of various age groups such as children, adolescents, and adults. You will provide necessary support and empathy to assist families in navigating the challenges posed by addiction while empowering them to develop healthier relationships and coping strategies.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Possession of an active and unrestricted Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of two years of professional counseling experience, particularly in a clinical or outpatient setting.
• A strong foundation in family therapy, couples therapy, substance abuse treatment, or trauma-informed care is highly preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legal and ethical considerations in mental health practice.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with a wide range of clients.
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) software to streamline documentation and care processes.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in specialty areas such as trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, or behavioral therapy will be considered a significant asset. Familiarity with evidence-based practices for substance misuse treatment is also desirable.
