Psychologist (NS) Grade: MH17 | Salary Range: $66,696 – $110,049. Sign‑on Bonus: $15,000, contingent on 2025‑2026 Budget Approval. About The Facility Cherry Hospital – a state‑of‑the‑art psychiatric hospital located in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The facility serves the 38 eastern counties of North Carolina and provides a healing environment for patients with the greatest need and fewest resources. Responsibilities Provide direct psychological services within the Adult Admissions Unit, including emergency services, diagnostic evaluations, capacity restoration services, group and individual therapy, and other treatment services for severely disturbed adults. Implement comprehensive psychological evaluations using objective and projective measures. Provide a wide array of therapeutic interventions for patients with major emotional and behavioral disturbances. Report or stay over during adverse weather events as required. Qualifications Broad-based knowledge of psychological theory and its applications in the treatment of psychiatric disorders. Thorough knowledge of core areas of normal and abnormal psychology, including motivation, development, learning, and psychotherapy. Skill in provision of comprehensive psychological evaluations using objective and projective measures. Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90‑270). Benefits Competitive salary ($66,696 – $110,049).
