Agency/Division/Classification Psychologist Senior (NS) – Grade MH20 Description Of Work This position will provide and supervise psychological services in the Adult Acute Admissions Unit for severely and persistently mentally ill (SPMI) adults. Duties include clinical and administrative supervision of several Staff Psychologists, as well as psychological assessment, treatment planning and development, behavioral programming, and individual and group interventions targeting independent living skills development. Opportunities exist to supervise interns and practicum students from the newly developed pre-doctoral internship program. Knowledge Skills And Abilities / Management Preferences Salary Range: $82,857 - $136,714 A Sign-on bonus of $15,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval. Candidates meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) / Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Broad-based knowledge of psychological theory and its applications in the treatment of psychiatric disorders is required. Competencies in psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention and clinical goal formulation are essential. Proven ability to work well with interdisciplinary treatment teams in planning, developing and providing appropriate treatment interventions with SPMI patient populations, including those with dual mental illness/substance abuse disorders. This position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. State Human Resources Act (GS 126).
