Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a travel contract requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience, active MN RN license, and ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care hospital Emergency Department with 16 rooms and 24 beds
• Department sees approximately 40 visits per day
• Patient ratios are 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights and weekends
• Shift schedule is 3x12-hour shifts rotating between evenings (11:00 AM–11:30 PM) and nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) as needed
• Weekend requirement is 1–2 out of every 3 weeks
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Special procedures include moderate sedation, IV starts, cardioversion, sepsis protocol, and management of mental health patients
• Additional procedures include EKGs, BiPAP setup, vent setup, and assisting trauma teams, codes, and strokes as needed
• Specialized equipment includes BiPAP, NICOM, bladder scanner, fluid warmers, Nihon Kohden monitors, V1200 vents, and Baxter IV pumps
• Charting is performed in Epic (Excellian); experience is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required; pending license will be accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ER/ED nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: ENPC, PALS
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required
• Preferred skills: charge nurse experience, conscious sedation, triage, and ventilator management
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Fingerprinting required per Minnesota state law; candidates must complete LiveScan prints prior to start

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO requests of no more than 5 days are preferred
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift to be eligible
• Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Parking is free in any unrestricted space
