MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Approved member of MVR-III teaching staff preferred
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred
• Experience in technical support preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the director of musical and be responsible for the technical operations of the auditorium, including lighting, sound, set design and construction, and coordinating necessary maintenance needed for production of the musical.
• Operate, maintain, and safeguard the technical assets of the auditorium, including supervising the use of lighting, sound, communications equipment, and the use and maintenance of auditorium facilities.
• Determine the necessary technical supports, such as lighting, sound, staging, and special needs necessary for the musical.
• Design, maintain, operate and stage lighting and sound systems for theatre, dance, music, and other productions that are part of the musical.
• Assist the director of musical on the technical specifications, costs, and usage of technical equipment required for the musical.
• Supervise the implementation of approved technical designs.
• Supervise and assist with set and stage construction and management.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and assignment of volunteer or paid technical staff.
• Monitor the condition of equipment including lighting, sound, and rigging equipment; arrange for repair and replacement within budgetary constraints; perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Assist with the preparation and control of production budgets; maintain inventory and order specialized supplies.
• Attend necessary rehearsals in order to supervise and assist in the technical aspects of the musical.
• Make recommendations to the director of musical regarding purchases of technical equipment.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
