VP, Product Marketing, Observability (Austin)

We are looking for an outstanding leader to helm our Observability Product Marketing team. In this role, you will be a trusted partner to the company and product leadership, working closely on defining the marketing, messaging, and go-to-market strategy for Elastic Observability SREs and decision makers. To be successful you will have a history of leading teams to achieve outstanding results. You should have deep technical understanding of Observability solutions (being a former practitioner is a plus) with a nuanced understanding of the Observability market technologies and competitive dynamics. Additionally, you should be adept at the creative aspects of positioning technology through messaging and narratives that are compelling, authentic, and differentiated

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provides thought leadership around market trends and competing solutions

* Brings excellent leadership and teamship to the company, interfaces effectively with Leadership, Product, Sales and Marketing

* Leads a growing Observability PMM team, including hiring and development of talent

* Set the Observability marketing strategy - including messaging, technical content, priorities, field enablement, and GTM

* Clearly articulates Elastic's position and differentiation vs similar offerings. Be the expert on competitive capabilities.

* Create, curate and present compelling content for consumption on the web, press releases, executive briefings, blogs and sales enablement

* Is the expert on target personas and segments, how customers buy and users adopt our products, and the value they derive from them

* Represent the company at various speaking engagements, conferences and press interviews

* Act as a technical product marketing lead for Elastic Observability

* Serve as an internal authority on the developer and SRE personas

QUALIFICATIONS

Being successful will require you to bring Observability domain expertise. Familiarity with Elastic products is a plus. We would love to hear from you, if you have:

* Well respected leader who has built, scaled, and lead global teams of 5 - 15 people

* Several years experience creating outbound messaging and content that resonates with a technical SRE audience

* Creative energy, courage to throw out the playbook, and out of the box thinking

* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

* Technical depth with respect to our products, solutions and industries we play in and capable of learning quickly. Ability to be hands-on with the product (former practitioner a plus).

* Comfortable working in a cross-functional role with a highly distributed team
