Job Description About the Company Ardmore Home Design (AHD), founded in 2008, is a privately‑owned, fast‑paced, entrepreneurially driven company that values people with strong skills to improve our products and processes daily. We design, sell and distribute luxury home décor to interior designers as well as boutique/luxury retailers worldwide. The AHD family of wholesale brands includes Made Goods (flagship furniture made from unique materials), Pigeon & Poodle (home and bath accessories), Blue Pheasant (handcrafted tabletop products) and Thucassi (artisanal candles and fragrances). About the Role This position will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the company’s financial information. Reporting directly to the Controller, the role will be highly involved in the month‑end close process, preparing journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliation, and assisting with regulatory reporting and other ad‑hoc accounting projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication, collaboration, and a high level of service to support business needs, including working with internal stakeholders daily to resolve critical customer‑related issues. They will exhibit a team‑oriented approach and behavior. What you can do for us: Preparation of complex monthly journal entries with precision. Conduct month‑end general ledger and balance‑sheet reconciliations. Assist in drafting periodic financial statements and supplemental schedules. Provide support in preparing the annual corporate budget. Assist in tax compliance activities and the yearly audit. Collaborate with operational managers to review financial performance. Develop a systematic way of keeping accounting records updated, accurate, and organized. Use analysis to recommend improvements in the organization’s accounting operation. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Strong understanding of GAAP and audit principles. Experience in wholesale or distribution industry. Property management experience is a plus but not required. Ability to work with and resolve customer issues independently and with customer service departments, sales teams, and other departments. Experience with high‑volume daily transactions. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; Power BI is a plus. QuickBooks and Sage X3 experience (plus). Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment is a strong plus. Good communication and influencing skills to work across all levels, including founders and senior leadership. Passionate, highly motivated, self‑starter. Impeccable personal and professional ethics and integrity. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work in an open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting. Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours with frequent interruptions. Required to use stairwells for meetings and engagement with employees on multiple floors.
