Contract | Days | 8-hour shifts, start times vary between 6:30 AM and later in the day with a 30-minute lunch break | Schedule determined by staffing captain | Every other Saturday or Sunday required (2 weekend days per 4-week schedule); a weekday off is provided during weeks that include a weekend shift | Holiday coverage determined by sign-up sheet

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient occupational therapy services across hospital units, including acute care and acute rehabilitation settings
• Treat a diverse patient population including spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, cardiac rehab, and orthopedic conditions
• Float between hospital units and to the acute rehab unit as needed
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, rehab aides, and other therapy disciplines (PT and Speech)
• Maintain BLS certification and document patient care using Cerner EMR
• Participate in a 1-day hospital orientation followed by 2–3 days of unit-specific orientation

Required Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of California (or eligible)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiac patient populations
• Proficiency or ability to learn Cerner EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3–5 years of overall occupational therapy experience preferred
• ICU experience preferred
• Experience in outpatient or home health settings preferred
• Experience with physical disabilities preferred
• Spanish-speaking candidates preferred
