We're looking for a Banquet Supervisor who's ready to run the whole operation, not just the event of the day. You'll be the one holding the space and the team together — coaching servers, bartenders, and housemen in real time, keeping the venue sharp and guest-ready, and stepping in to captain whatever event comes through. Job Summary:

The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for the banquet operation as a whole while on shift — supervising and directing servers, bartenders, and housemen, keeping the space clean and guest-ready, and stepping in to captain whatever events come through. With a focus on exceptional client interaction, the supervisor engages with guests in a professional, warm manner, addressing any needs or concerns quickly. Key responsibilities include overseeing event setup, service, and breakdown, maintaining high standards for cleanliness and presentation, and ensuring accurate guest counts and billing. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential for keeping the team and the venue running smoothly.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Supervises the set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, silverware, linens, and glassware for events during their shift - assisting with all tasks as needed
• Captains events as needed, directing servers, bartenders, and housemen through setup, service, and breakdown
• Assists servers with proper buffet setup and food order
• Circles the guest floor during meal service to check tables and assist servers whenever necessary
• Confirms guest count guarantees are accurate so billing can be done properly
• Generates the guest check and corresponding captain report for each event
• Creates side work duties for staff and follows up to confirm completion of assigned tasks
• Coaches staff in the moment on performance and tasks, and notifies the Director of Banquets of attendance issues or concerns that need formal follow-up
• Ensures all areas of the space are clean and show-ready throughout their shift for site visits that may come through any day
• Resolves guest problems using critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and reports issues on the captain report
• Ensures bartenders verify guest ages before serving alcohol
• Maintains a clean work space in the back hallway
• Ensures all department staff maintain a clean uniform and person while on shift
• Certified in Serving Alcohol with Care training and holds a valid TABC card
• Knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
• Communicates in person, on the phone, and via email in a professional, competent manner
• Quickly responds to all guest requests
• Never eats, drinks, or smokes in view of a guest
• Must perform any other required duties as requested by the Director of Banquets to aid in better operation of the hotel, restaurant, bar, and service to the guests
• Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, and employee issues
• Act with the highest level of integrity in every decision

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervises and directs banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and housemen, during scheduled shifts
• Coaches staff in the moment and notifies the Director of Banquets of performance or attendance issues that need formal follow-up
• Assists with coverage planning as needed, including calling in additional staff
• Does not conduct formal write-ups or build the staff schedule

Requirements:

Required Skills / Abilities:

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to direct and coach a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests, staff, and management
• Ability to resolve guest and staff issues calmly and professionally, using sound judgment
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events, tasks, and staff assignments at once
• Proficient with computers for professional communication, Excel, and proprietary hotel/banquet software
• Strong attention to detail and customer-oriented approach
• Basic math skills for guest counts, billing, and guarantees
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a professional level; fluency preferred

Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in banquet operations preferred
• Experience as a server preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Experience with catering or venue management software preferred; CI/TY experience is a plus 

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand/walk on feet for up to 10 hours
• Must be able to handle heat and stress
• Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder
• Must have clear vision for close cleaning and writing tasks
• Must have clear vision for distances up to 25 feet
• Must have good finger dexterity for prep work and writing
• Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
• Must be able to carry food trays
