• Job Description:
  The Ob-Gyn Surgical Coordinator is responsible for organizing and managing all aspects of surgical scheduling and coordination. The role acts as the central point of communication between surgeons, patients, operating rooms, and insurance companies to ensure efficient, timely, and patient-centered surgical care.
  Responsibilities and Duties:  
• Schedule surgical procedures in coordination with physicians, operating room staff, and surgical facilities. 
• Obtain pre-authorizations and insurance approvals for procedures. 
• Schedule all surgical procedures, including pre-operative appointments, surgery dates, and post-operative follow-ups. 
• Maintain and manage the physician's surgical schedule, ensuring efficient use of operating room time. 
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure all necessary resources are available. 
• Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers regarding scheduling and procedure details. 
• MAINTAIN ACCURATE AND UP TO DATE patient records and surgical schedule in electronic medical systems.
• Ensure completion and accuracy of all surgical documentation, including consents and medical histories as well as imaging studies.
• Liaise with billing departments to ensure proper coding and documentation for reimbursement.
• Manage surgical cancelations, scheduling, and emergency case coordination when needed.
• Comply with HIPPA and institutional privacy standards
• Main office is in Jersey City 

  Qualifications:  

• Associate or Higher education in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
• Previous experience in Surgical Scheduling or Medical office coordination required 3 years' experience
• Knowledge of surgical terminology, procedures, and insurance processes 
• Proficiency in electronic medical records Must have knowledge of EMR
• Fluent in English and Spanish is a plus. 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
