Position : Accountant III – Endowments & Investments (University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT) Work Schedule : Hybrid, Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week) Pay Rate Range : $72,000 – $77,000 per year (full‑time) Job Summary Prepare standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries into accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document the organization’s transactions. Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment. Responsibilities Work closely with Advancement and other departments regarding endowment setups and earnings Calculate and allocate monthly investment earnings Work with Investment group to accurately record all investment activity Reconcile and accurately record bond transactions Maintain all bond‑related schedules Review and approve campus journal entries Assist in month‑end and year‑end close process Assist in preparation of ad hoc reports Propose and implement process changes Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) plus 6 years of directly related work experience, or a master’s degree (or equivalency) plus 4 years of directly related work experience. One year of higher education can be substituted for one year of directly related work experience.
