Join the Sacramento Business Operations Service Center as the next Business Operations Bilingual Service Center Representative! As part of the Service Center Business Operations team, you will be an integral part of accomplishing Covered California’s mission and main goals.

As the Bilingual Business Operations Service Center Representative, you will be responsible for directly assisting consumers with enrollment into health coverage. You will be able to gain experience working with various information systems, as well as improve upon existing Microsoft Office skills. • Call Center Pay Differential: If selected, incumbents will be compensated an additional $150 per month.

• Bilingual Pay Differential: If selected, incumbents will have to pass a fluency exam. Once passed, incumbents will be compensated an additional $200 per month.

This position’s office headquarters location is designated in Sacramento County. Travel expenses associated with commuting to the employee’s office headquarters location are not reimbursable, other than authorized transit subsidies.

Working Conditions

• This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Covered California’s current telework policy. While Covered California supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) fluency in the Spanish language. If the State of California does not have a current record documenting your fluency in this language, you will be required to successfully pass an approved language fluency test prior to being hired.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Experience reviewing, processing, and accurately entering information into systems, databases, or forms.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and complete accurate work within strict deadlines while supporting English and Spanish speaking consumers or stakeholders.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish, including the ability to explain complex information and provide effective bilingual customer service.
• Experience interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, preferably in public health, health care, or related government programs.
• Demonstrated ability to organize work, maintain accurate records, and use Outlook, Word, and Excel to support program operations.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Background Check: All applicants shall be subject to a pre-employment background investigation. The investigation will consist of completion of a pre-employment questionnaire, fingerprinting, and an inquiry to the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation to disclose criminal records.
