About the Position

Job Title

Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Nights, Every Other Weekend, 36 hrs/week)

Key Responsibilities

• Float between up to 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the facility, including ED border, acute mental health, and ICU transfer-ready areas
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, interpret telemetry strips every 4 hours, and measure cardiac intervals
• Manage cardiac drips and apply TR Band experience as required by patient condition
• Provide direct patient care for ED border patients, serve as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented ICU patients who are transfer ready
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR
• Adhere to clinician-to-patient ratios of up to 6:1 on nights across units ranging from 8 to 41 beds

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a travel nurse
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, including strip interpretation and cardiac interval measurement
• Ability and willingness to float to 8 different units as assigned

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of experience specifically in cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and telemetry strip reading
• TR Band experience
• Prior experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
