# Staff AccountantApply**Job#: 3044269****Job Description:**Staff Accountant**Location:** Hybrid in Denver, CORole OverviewWe are seeking an entry-level accounting professional who is eager to learn and grow within both Financial Reporting and Corporate Accounting. This role will support two accounting teams and offer exposure to a wide variety of accounting and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants exposure to month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and other corporate accounting functions. Hourly pay rate begins at $30 per hour W2 (negotiable).Key Responsibilities* Assist the Financial Reporting team with the preparation and organization of quarterly and annual reporting activities.* Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and equity schedules.* Prepare and maintain journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.* Assist with account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.* Help support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.* Research accounting variances and assist in compiling explanations.* Assist with internal controls implementation, compliance, and testing.* Support the preparation of state and federal regulatory reports.* Collaborate with external auditors by providing requested information.* Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.Required Qualifications**Experience:** 2+ years of accounting experience, relevant internship experience, or strong accounting coursework.**Education:** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.**Technical Skills:*** Fundamental understanding of accounting concepts, including journal entries, debits, credits, and account reconciliations.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.* Experience with financial statement preparation.* Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.**Competencies:*** Strong organizational and time management skills.* Effective written and verbal communication skills.* Demonstrated willingness to learn and ask questions.* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Preferred Qualifications* Experience working with an ERP system such as Oracle or Workiva.* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).* Previous exposure to month-end close activities and intercompany accounting.* Familiarity with regulatory accounting and reporting. *Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
