Biorepository Operations Specialist

Position Overview We are seeking a Biorepository Operations Specialist to join our growing team in San Diego (Carlsbad). This role is essential to the safe and efficient handling of cryopreserved specimens,including secure receipt, storage, auditing, and occasional medical courier transports. You will support daily facility operations, maintain precise inventory control, and uphold CryoFuture’s rigorous compliance and safety standards. As a trusted representative of CryoFuture, you will interact with fertility clinics and patients with professionalism and compassion, ensuring a seamless experience at every step. Key Responsibilities – Operations & Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure seamless data entry in our electronic database. Verify FDA eligibility of cryopreserved reproductive tissue per guidelines. Manage and coordinate specimen shipments between fertility clinics, adhering to strict protocols on packaging and shipping of potentially infectious tissue following FDA and DOT guidelines. Oversee and track courier shipments, ensuring compliance with handling and shipping guidelines. Conduct quality control checks and monitor cryogenic storage equipment, including liquid nitrogen tank maintenance. Perform accurate physical inventory verification of cryopreserved specimen. Verify consents for completeness, accuracy and execute dispositions per standard operating procedures. Customer & Clinic Support Act as a liaison between patients, clinics, and couriers, providing clear and professional communication. Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring client inquiries and concerns are addressed promptly. Uphold ASRM FDA, DOT and AATB compliance while maintaining strict confidentiality of patient records (HIPAA). Specimen Transportation & Facility Oversight Safely operate company vehicles for specimen transportation between facilities. Perform on-site facility operations, including cryogenic procedures and safety checks. Who You Are We’re seeking an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. You have exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks, and a strong sense of accountability. You’re comfortable handling delicate cryopreserved specimens and working within the regulated medical field. Strong communication and customer service skills are just as important as your ability to perform in a hands-on, operational setting.
