Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year minimum License: MO or compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI preferred Must-Have: - EKG rhythm identification experience - Epic charting preferred - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips - Ability to manage acutely ill adult and geriatric patients Description: This position is for a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse working night shifts. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring and caring for medical and telemetry patients. The average daily census is 16-18 patients. The unit has 24 beds with a staffing ratio of 1:5 at night. The nurse will float within the service line and scope as needed. Patient populations include adults and geriatrics. The nurse will provide pre- and post-procedure evaluation and care. Neurological assessment and care for acute ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack patients will be required. Experience in administering medications, including insulin drips and non-titrating cardiac drips, is mandatory. The nurse will also be involved in the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of central lines and blood products. The role excludes care for patients with active gastrointestinal bleeding or uncontrolled ischemic chest pain. The environment supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various services. Travelers will have a maximum of 7 days of requested time off to be finalized at the time of submission. Compliance requirements include fit testing for proper procedure during orientation. Overall, the role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment.
