Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial and analytical support to the psychiatry & neuroscience department and other clinical departments as needed. Collaborating with the Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO), the incumbent will assist in review of budgets, conduct reconciliation activities, understand and apply accounting principles and university policies to work to support accuracy of financial data for the department and complete financial transactions.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required

In lieu of the required degree, a candidate may substitute a total of six years of directly related experience. Required

Experience Requirements

2 - 4 years of related experience. Required

Experience working in a financial role with UCR or in an academic/healthcare setting. Preferred

Experience using UCR financial tools, EPIC Cube, and/or Tableau. Preferred

Minimum Requirements

Some knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems.

Ability to function as a member of a team.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; service orientation; critical thinking; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills.

Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information, organizes, and performs basic financial analysis assignments.

Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.

Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
