Outpatient Oncology RN Position

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

5x8 Hour Shift: 08:30 AM - 05:00 PM. Option for 4x9s (08:00 AM - 05:30 PM).

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Outpatient Oncology RN with experience in chemotherapy administration to support the infusion needs of our patients. This position requires a solid background in acute care and medical-surgical oncology, as well as a preference for outpatient oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage patient infusion therapies.
• Provide nursing care to patients with oncology diagnoses in an outpatient setting.
• Monitor and manage patients for acute reactions and side effects during treatment.
• Collaborate with outpatient MDs in the clinic to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in the designated charting system.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active compact RN license.
• 1 year of acute care med-surg oncology experience is required.
• Outpatient oncology experience is preferred with extensive chemotherapy knowledge.
• Certifications: BLS, ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Certification.
• Experience in accessing and managing ports and central line care.
• Ability to monitor and recognize abnormal lab values and manage chemotherapy-related side effects.
