We are seeking a Litigation Associate with 1-3 years of insurance defense experience to join a growing and collaborative law firm. This role offers the opportunity to handle a variety of liability matters while working both independently and alongside an experienced litigation team in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance defense matters involving auto liability, general liability, construction, products liability, and property damage claims.

• Manage cases through all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, examinations under oath, and court appearances.

• Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues impacting case strategy.

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and client reports.

• Evaluate liability, damages, and overall case value and provide recommendations to clients.

• Appear before courts, arbitrators, and mediators on behalf of clients.

• Coordinate with experts, insurance carriers, clients, and opposing counsel throughout the litigation process.

• Maintain billable time requirements and ensure timely completion of assignments.

• Effectively manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey Bar.

• 1-3 years of defense litigation experience.

• Experience handling insurance defense, general liability, and construction litigation matters preferred.

• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with legal technology and case management systems.

• Ability to manage deadlines, maintain billable hours, and prioritize a busy caseload.

• Self-motivated professional with a strong commitment to client service and teamwork.

• Ability to travel as needed for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
