Maintenance Mechanic - Night Shift

We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic based in West Jordan, UT . Position Overview The Maintenance Mechanic supports plant operations by maintaining plant equipment of the respective business unit to meet and/or exceed the business unit's goals and objectives in safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer service. The Maintenance Mechanic ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative and corrective maintenance requirements on various types of industrial equipment. Responsibilities Adhere to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards and policies by taking personal responsibility to prevent injury/illness to oneself and others from exposure to hazards. Follow all permit procedures including lock-out/tag-out, confined space, arc flash, and work at heights as required. Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document maintenance activities including time spent, parts used, description of work performed, abnormalities identified, and follow-up actions needed. Perform maintenance activities—preventative, corrective, breakdown, and work orders—to improve equipment performance, reliability, and product quality in a timely manner as scheduled or assigned. Address and resolve equipment and systems faults related to the ASRS, conveyors, or other equipment in the Cooler Warehouse. This task is physically demanding as the employee may need to climb inside the ASRS up to 10 levels high with fall protection equipment. Use reasoning and analysis to troubleshoot equipment and parts failures to improve performance, and participate in focused improvement activities as assigned. Care for personal and company tools and equipment in a professional manner, using tools as designed. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work site and general areas assigned. Respond timely for maintenance assistance; coordinate with maintenance and area owner leadership to prioritize work activities. Communicate with maintenance and area owners regarding safety issues, quality issues, and work completion delays. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager. About You Essential Skills: Mechanical and electrical competency, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and basic computer skills. Ability to operate powered industrial equipment (forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack). Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, electrical drawings/schematics, blueprints, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, SOPs, and correspondence; effective communication with employees and customers. Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills; ability to understand and execute instructions. Mathematical skills for problem-solving; thorough understanding of mechanical procedures related to manufacturing maintenance. Knowledge of machine functions, equipment safety hazards, stored energy, pinch points, and welding skills. Maintenance of food safety techniques to ensure product quality during maintenance activities; meet or exceed quality standards. Completion of safety, health, and environmental training in a timely manner. Compliance with all laws, policies, and procedures for Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance. Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete maintenance activities timely. Adaptability to changing work environment, competing demands, and frequent changes or delays. Adherence to state and federal law, ISO Quality Program, company policies, and safety and environmental regulations.
