SHC Federal is seeking a Strategic Growth & Business Operations Manager to lead growth efforts within our Federal business unit. This role will focus on leveraging our cleared workforce and proven past performance to support prime contractors in a true teaming capacity.

Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate is a driven self-starter who thrives on winning. They’re passionate about positively changing people’s lives and have at least 5 years of experience successfully staffing subcontracts with prime contractors across the Federal government with an emphasis on the Department of War (DoW). This position is not about writing Master Service Agreements to compete with traditional staffing firms but about securing work scope and work share as a subcontractor.

A successful candidate will create a pipeline of teaming opportunities with prime contractors unilaterally and through the Federal sales team that will be awarded incrementally overtime. Ideally, SHC Federal will experience four to six awards per year, with 10 to 20 long-term positions per contract. A successful candidate will also execute subcontracting agreements for post-award programs to complement pre-award teaming pursuits.

SHC Federal is positioned for growth, with significant past performance in the federal technology solutions market, having placed hundreds of successful candidates in mission-critical roles for federal clients and contractors. This position will build on that success to create new revenue streams and business opportunities.

The position can be worked hybrid-remotely from our Tysons Corner, VA office (in office three days a week) and reports to the EVP, SHC Federal.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Drive the team through demonstrative execution and mentoring to create a growth pipeline through predictable sales strategies, tactics, and action plans resulting in: New relationships via Teaming Agreements or distressed contracts where SHC Federal can offer support; Expanding the existing portfolio through on-subcontract growth AND client reactivation.
• Profitably manage the Federal line of business using owner-mindset philosophies including reviewing the business unit’s monthly P&L and making outcome driven investments.
• Attend Federal client sales meetings to: Assist in closing high visibility opportunities; Provide mentoring & coaching to other associates
• Coach the team: Hold yourself and the team accountable to SHC’s measures of success; Conduct training, role playing and other best practices to develop the team
• Frequently attend industry networking events to stay abreast of new trends within the DoD community while meeting new prospects.
• Expand SHC Federal’s DoW portfolio by growing existing accounts and identifying new opportunities.
• Develop a deep understanding of client needs and articulate the value proposition of the company’s services and solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Understand customer trends within the DoW community to support customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.
• Analyze and interpret market trends, conduct competitor analysis, and provide strategic insights.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of five to ten years of strategic growth experience with a proven ability to execute capture strategies and win pursuits within the staffing industry and/or small business government contracting sector, supporting the Department of War and the Department of Homeland Security
• A minimum of three to five years of leadership experience including hiring, coaching, and separation
• Proven history of successfully delivering IT professional services in the federal market.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to meet customers across the nation.

• Demonstrated success in executing and delivering MSA/Contract/SOW work.
• Track record of meeting customer needs by collaborating with project teams to develop innovative solutions.
• Proven ability to implement a growth plan for federal lines of business.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred:

• Experience leveraging joint ventures and small business set aside to win work
• Multi-contest winner for sales excellence in previous roles
