The Metallurgist supports aluminum alloy production, quality assurance, and continuous improvement by analyzing metallurgical data, investigating product and process issues, coordinating testing, and ensuring compliance with customer and internal specifications. This role works closely with Production, Quality, Sales, suppliers, and customers, and oversees up to two direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze alloys, raw materials, and finished products to verify specification compliance.
• Provide metallurgical expertise for melting, alloying, casting, and related operations.
• Investigate quality concerns and production issues using structured root‐cause analysis.
• Coordinate, perform, and interpret laboratory and metallurgical testing.
• Support process improvements, product trials, and quality initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports and customer‐facing documentation.
• Maintain testing procedures, quality records, and ISO‐compliant documentation.
• Train and provide technical guidance to laboratory and production personnel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience in aluminum manufacturing, casting, metallurgy, or materials testing preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality/data management systems.

Work Environment

Office, laboratory, and manufacturing settings with exposure to industrial conditions. Occasional travel and after‐hours support may be required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and supervise up to two direct reports.

Compensation

• Job Type: Full‐time
• Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year
• Performance Bonus: 10%–20% of annual salary
