Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined, and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who is eager to learn, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and capable of troubleshooting and solving problems independently. In this role, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of mechanical, electrical, and pumping equipment. You will work with pumps, motors, engines, control systems, and related infrastructure while supporting preventive maintenance programs and ensuring safe, efficient operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically skilled individual who is teachable, dependable, and looking to grow their maintenance career. Pay: Up to $24.00 per hour DOE.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, overhaul, repair, service, and maintain equipment including:
• Pumps
• Motors
• Gas and diesel engines
• Meters and gauges
• Compressors and blowers
• Valves and backflow/check valves
• Revamp and maintain pump station equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain 240/480V AC/DC electrical control systems.
• Maintain well motors and associated control systems.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, manuals, and work instructions.
• Utilize power tools, mechanic's tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
• Inspect equipment to determine operating conditions and repair requirements.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Maintain service and maintenance records.
• Complete and manage work orders within a CMMS system.
• Submit requisitions for parts, materials, and equipment.
• Participate in and safely perform confined space entry work.
• Paint and preserve equipment as needed.
• Read and interpret SCADA system information.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of installation, maintenance, and repair techniques for pumps, motors, and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to inspect equipment and diagnose repair needs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical instructions.
• Experience using mechanic's tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Working knowledge of 240/480V AC/DC control systems.
• Ability to read for comprehension and interpret SCADA system information.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to safely perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous maintenance mechanic experience in water, wastewater, utilities, industrial, manufacturing, or municipal environments.
• Experience with pump stations and pumping equipment.
• Experience with CMMS work order systems.
• Experience performing confined space entry work.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience.
