Material Handler II

Material Handler II Department: Warehouse Reports To: Shipping Supervisor or Plant Manager Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Overtime as required) Work Environment: 80% to 90% outdoor work Job Summary The Material Handler II is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading, verifying, and storing incoming materials. This role ensures the manufacturing floor is consistently supplied with parts and that subassemblies are stored correctly. Key Responsibilities
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $21.75 - $23.00
- Safely unload incoming materials; verify quantities, inspect for damage, and check raw steel receipts (rejecting when necessary).
- Store all materials strictly within designated areas. Keep inventory organized by part number and assist with cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Deliver required parts to the shop floor and move completed subassemblies to assigned storage. Organize and move finished goods to the yard.
- Assign raw material jobs to workstations to maximize efficiency. Expedite material shortages and manage stock rotation.
- Train and direct Material Handler I team members under the guidance of the Stockroom Manager.
- Safely operate forklifts and carts. Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical condition of forklifts, and refill propane tanks as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of relevant warehouse experience preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience operating a sit-down propane forklift.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency using a measuring tape and measuring gauge.
- Basic computer skills required (MS Office and SAP experience is a plus).
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
