Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular/cardiac intensive care unit serving adult and geriatric populations with a census of up to 15 beds
• Manage complex diagnoses including cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, MI, pulmonary hypertension, and hypertensive urgency/emergency
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Impella, VAD, IABP, CRRT, ventilators, cooling devices, and CCO monitors
• Assist with or support bedside procedures such as central/A-line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, Swan/PA catheter insertion, targeted temperature management, and CRRT
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1, up to 1:3 with stable, lower-acuity patients; float within specialty and to lower-acuity areas as needed
• Work holidays as scheduled and adhere to unit scheduling requirements including potential on-call obligations

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
• BLS certification – American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
• CPI certification – Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU/CICU experience required; first-time travelers with strong CVICU background will be considered
• Must maintain a permanent address of 50 or more miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CCRN certification preferred
• Experience with advanced cardiac therapies including LVAD workups, heart transplant support, and mechanical circulatory support devices
• Familiarity with targeted temperature management and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
