Reliability Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Reliability Engineer in Stratford, Connecticut for an approximately 15-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will develop and execute reliability engineering analyses, testing strategies, and corrective-action activities while also supporting reliability databases, reporting tools, dashboards, and related applications.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree with 9-15 years of relevant experience, or master's degree with 7-13 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated reliability engineering experience.
• Experience performing systems analysis and design activities.
• Experience developing or supporting reliability and maintainability predictions and allocations.
• Experience evaluating engineering design concepts for reliability.
• Ability to analyze performance data, process-control statistics, and product reliability trends.
• Experience investigating variables that may affect product or process reliability.
• Ability to develop reliability engineering plans that support customer, company, and regulatory objectives.
• Experience recommending design, test, or statistical-process-control methods to improve product reliability.
• Ability to analyze failures and support corrective-action activities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and/or Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
• Failure Tree Analysis (FTA) experience.
• Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) experience.
• Experience with reliability testing methods such as HALT, HASS, ESS, and RDT.
• Failure-analysis experience.
• Trend-analysis experience.
• Design of Experiments (DOE) experience.
• Experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing and maintaining reports or dashboards using Tableau, Cognos, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Application-development experience involving requirements, interface design, database architecture, and reporting.
• Experience with reliability software such as Windchill Risk & Reliability, ReliaSoft, Relyence, or similar applications.

What You'll Do

• Develop, coordinate, and conduct technical reliability studies and engineering evaluations.
• Perform reliability and maintainability predictions and allocations.
• Conduct FMEA/FMECA and Fault Tree Analysis.
• Support reliability testing activities including HALT, HASS, ESS, and RDT.
• Support FRACAS activities and verify corrective actions meet reliability requirements.
• Analyze engineering designs and recommend changes that improve system or process reliability.
• Compile and analyze reliability performance reports and process-control statistics.
• Investigate product and process variables that may contribute to failures.
• Develop mathematical or statistical models to identify components, batches, or processes presenting increased failure risk.
• Determine environmental-testing requirements and statistically appropriate sample sizes when needed.
• Support reliability database administration and data management.
• Develop and maintain reliability reports and dashboards.
• Support development, evaluation, and implementation of reliability-related applications and commercial software tools.

Pay

• $40.00-$80.00 per hour.
• No overtime premium.
