Corporate Benefits Specialist

Location: Rochester, NY 14625
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST

Job Summary

The Corporate Benefits Specialist will provide HR and benefits administration support across Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental, Vision, Well-being, COBRA/HIPAA, Section 125, 401(k), Financial/Retirement, and other voluntary benefit programs. This role supports daily benefits operations, employee inquiries, vendor coordination, compliance, annual enrollment, reporting, and benefits-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer employee benefit programs, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Pharmacy, Section 125, Qualified Life Events, 401(k), Financial/Retirement, COBRA/HIPAA, and voluntary benefits.
• Provide timely employee and manager support; research and resolve benefits issues in coordination with Payroll, Legal, vendors, and internal teams.
• Support benefits operations, including workflow improvements, system updates, plan documentation, file feeds, enrollment changes, leave-of-absence transactions, beneficiary updates, QMSOs, and reporting.
• Assist with annual open enrollment, including system readiness, communications, vendor coordination, issue resolution, and special benefits projects.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with benefit vendors, brokers, and consultants.
• Prepare/audit vendor invoices and payment submissions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Support 401(k) and financial well-being benefits, including employee inquiries and project work.
• Reconcile and research discrepancies between Oracle and vendor systems.
• Use advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) for benefits data analysis and reporting.
• Monitor benefits industry trends and compliance requirements; recommend improvements to benefits programs, policies, and employee experience.
• Participate in vendor/status meetings, implementations, enhancements, and problem resolution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of HR/Benefits experience, including hands-on Benefits Administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of 401(k) and Financial Well-being benefits.
• Knowledge of benefits compliance and applicable regulations.
• Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office, Oracle, and advanced Excel.
• Strong communication, customer service, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
