Summary
We are seeking a qualified and caring Registered Dental Assistant to join our team! As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will provide top-notch dental care that makes our clients feel like family. Our Hygienist works with a dedicated hygienist assistant that handles the operatory set-up, cleanup, and most of the data entry.  The ideal candidate is state-licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and has at least two years of experience. Responsibilities:

• Dental Hygienist performs thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages, including pediatrics
• Assess and document patients' oral health status, including medical records and treatment plans
• Dental Hygienist perform periodontal ScRP or debridement where indicated in diseased areas
• Utilize our dental software (Eaglesoft) for patient documentation and scheduling
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits
• Dental Hygienist occasionally assist the dentist during procedures as needed, demonstrating proficiency in dental assisting tasks when a hygienist assistant is not available
• Maintain aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and clean environment for both patients and staff
• Review documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
• The Dental Hygienist stay updated on medical terminology relevant to dentistry to effectively communicate with patients and team members

Qualifications

• Valid dental hygiene license in NY State
• Experience with medical records management is preferred
• Familiarity with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar dental software
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and medical terminology is essential
• Previous experience in pediatric dentistry is advantageous but not required
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and comfort
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated
