Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment experience for an ambulatory surgery center position.

Job Details

• Ambulatory surgery center setting supporting a general OR with a variety of surgical specialties,
• Procedures span neurosurgery, orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, podiatry, urology, ENT, pediatric ENT, bariatrics, endoscopic, and robotic surgeries,
• Day shift schedule with 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM,
• 13-week assignment length,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required,
• Prior travel assignment experience required,
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC),
• Experience in a surgery center or ambulatory setting highly preferred,
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, laser safety, radiation safety, sharps safety, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures,
• Experience with case carts, cell savers, multiple types of drills, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and high level disinfectant (HLD) preferred,
• License required if applicable,
• Current CA state license required,

Additional Information

• Support surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties including neurosurgery, orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, podiatry, urology, and ENT,
• Assist with sterile processing tasks including decontamination and sterilization knowledge,
• Experience with orthopedic robotic surgery preferred,
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract,
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day,
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler,
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate,
• 50-mile radius rule applies for local candidate designation,
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
