Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist
Pay: $23.00 per hour

As a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursements, and compliance across the revenue cycle. You'll work closely with the billing team to optimize insurance claims processing and support the practice's financial health.


What You'll Do
As a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Review provider documentation and accurately assign E/M codes for office visits and outpatient services.
• Ensure coding supports medical decision making (MDM) and time-based documentation requirements.
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims, working to resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
• Verify that documentation supports medical necessity and appropriate code selection.
• Stay updated on payer policies, coding changes, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Assist with revenue cycle activities, including claim corrections, appeals, and accounts receivable follow-up.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal, state, and payer regulations.

What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Strong knowledge of E/M coding, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM standards.
• Experience with insurance claim submission, denial management, and payment reconciliation.
• Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems, medical billing software, and practice management tools.
• Thorough understanding of medical terminology, documentation standards, and revenue cycle principles.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and third-party billing requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Certification such as CPC, COC, CCS-P, or equivalent preferred, with at least 4 years of related experience.
