Litigation Attorney

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of Virginia state court litigation experience, including some background in insurance defense, to join a litigation practice in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The attorney will handle and assist with a variety of litigation matters involving property damage, bodily injury, insurance coverage, and professional liability.

Responsibilities

• Handle and assist with state court litigation matters in Virginia.
• Defend residential home builders and other businesses in property damage and bodily injury claims.
• Represent insurers and policyholders in insurance coverage disputes.
• Assist with legal professional liability and ethics claims.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, insurers, experts, and other litigation professionals.
• Manage litigation matters and deadlines efficiently.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys while independently handling assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong experience with Virginia state court litigation.
• At least some insurance defense experience required.
• Experience with property damage, bodily injury, insurance coverage, or professional liability matters is preferred.
• Virginia Bar admission required.
• Maryland and/or District of Columbia Bar admission preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage litigation matters independently.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
