Construction Accounting Specialist
We are looking for someone with strong construction accounting experience. This person should be hands-on with AP/AR, QuickBooks, AIA billing, lien waivers, joint checks, reconciliations, and general accounting functions. Construction industry experience is important for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Process subcontractor pay applications; administer and track conditional/unconditional lien waivers and joint check agreements.
- Prepare and submit AIA G702/G703 progress billings, track retainage balances, and manage collections.
- Maintain the chart of accounts in QuickBooks, perform balance sheet reconciliations, post accruals, and conduct monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) analysis.
- Generate monthly job profitability reports, variance analyses, and assist external CPA/auditors.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in construction or general contracting.
- Hands-on mastery of QuickBooks and advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
- Direct experience with AIA G702/G703 billing, lien releases, joint checks, and job cost accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
