Project Manager

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of low-voltage and structured cabling projects from project award through completion. The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of assigned low-voltage and structured cabling projects. This position serves as a key connection between the client, project leadership, field teams, vendors, subcontractors, and internal operations. The ideal candidate is an organized, accountable, technically knowledgeable project professional who understands that successful project management requires more than managing paperwork. This is a hands- on role that requires regular engagement with field operations, active problem-solving, attention to production, and the ability to make timely decisions that keep projects moving. The Project Manager will manage project schedules, budgets, materials, manpower coordination, documentation, quality, client communication, testing, turnover, and closeout while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys being involved in both project management and field execution and who can effectively coordinate teams to keep projects moving forward. Key Responsibilities: Take ownership of assigned low-voltage, structured cabling, fiber optic, and data center infrastructure projects from kickoff and mobilization through installation, testing, commissioning, turnover, and closeout. Responsible for the day to day execution and financial performance of their assigned project/scope. Establish project priorities, milestones, deliverables, and execution plans. Proactively identify issues that could affect schedule, cost, quality, or customer satisfaction and address them before they become larger problems. Owns the project controls, specifically tracking budgeted vs. actual labor hours, cost-to-complete forecasting, committed costs, and overall project financial performance. Responsible for identifying and documenting scope changes and assisting with pricing/tracking. Maintain an active presence with field operations and understand what is happening on the jobsite—not simply what is reported on a project schedule. Work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, technicians, installers, subcontractors, and other field personnel to coordinate daily activities and project priorities. Monitor production, manpower, installation progress, material availability, and field constraints. Visit project sites regularly and participate in critical project activities, meetings, inspections, and milestone events. Assist field leadership in resolving installation challenges, coordination issues, and project roadblocks. Ensure field teams have the information, materials, drawings, and resources required to perform their work efficiently. Develop, maintain, and actively manage project schedules. Coordinate installation activities with field teams, clients, general contractors, vendors, and other trades. Track project progress against established milestones and production goals. Identify schedule risks and develop recovery plans when projects fall behind. Coordinate manpower requirements based on project workload and schedule demands. Communicate schedule changes and impacts to appropriate stakeholders. Ensure critical deadlines, testing dates, turnover requirements, and client milestones are met. Track labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and other project expenses. Review job costs and identify potential cost overruns or areas of inefficiency. Assist with forecasting, billing, cost projections, and monthly financial reporting. Monitor project profitability and take appropriate action when financial performance is at risk. Review purchase orders, invoices, subcontractor costs, and material expenditures. Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and installation requirements. Coordinate technical questions and field conditions with engineering, design, client representatives, and project stakeholders. Maintain accurate and organized project documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate RFIs, submittals, technical questions, approvals, and other project correspondence. Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements. Build strong working relationships with field and project teams. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of project management experience, preferably within low-voltage, structured cabling, data center infrastructure, or a related industry. Demonstrated experience coordinating large-scale structured cabling or low-voltage projects. Experience working directly with general contractors, data center owners/operators, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders preferred. Experience managing projects within active data center environments strongly preferred.Equivalent combination of technical education, field experience, and project management experience may be considered. Strong understanding of structured cabling systems and low-voltage infrastructure. Working knowledge of fiber optics, copper cabling, telecommunications, data center connectivity, racks and cabinets, cable management, pathway systems, labeling, testing, and certification. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, documentation, change management, and closeout. Ability to prioritize competing demands and make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify project risks early and develop practical solutions. Comfortable making decisions and resolving issues in fast-moving field environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead meetings, provide project updates, document issues, and communicate expectations clearly. Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence with clients and project stakeholders. Ability to coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal personnel. Strong leadership presence with the ability to establish accountability while maintaining positive professional relationships.
