About the Position

Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Two (2) years preferred License: NYS License (or able to obtain prior to start) Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY), ARRT preferred, VIR Certified preferred Description: Short Description: 5x8-hour days, on call/callback/holiday as needed. On Call: 5-7 call shifts per 7-week time block, including weekend call. Complete Description: Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to produce high-quality radiologic images. Works cooperatively with all team members to resolve problems expediently. Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when interacting with customers. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patients' rights in all interfaces. Instructs and prepares patients for examinations and assists during procedures. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in the operation of equipment and reports malfunctions to management. Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner and assists with department duties during downtime. Understands the role in maintaining medication security for authorized personnel only. Demonstrates competency in providing healthcare services across all age groups. Exhibits strong interpersonal skills in relationships with all ages. Demonstrates competency in using Client Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and PACS. Participates in performance improvement activities as required. Maintains confidentiality using personal passwords and protects all patient care information. Handles telephone inquiries of a technical nature while maintaining good phone etiquette.
