Mine Development Planner

Tucson, United States | Posted on 03/26/2026 Our client is looking for a Mine Development Planner (MDP) who will act as the primary link between long-term strategic planning and physical site execution in large-scale open-pit mining operations. This role is for a hands-on mining professional who will lead the critical “pioneering” planning phase, overseeing the transition of raw terrain into a functional, large-scale open-pit mining operation. The Mine Development Planner takes full ownership of early-stage mine development, operates with minimal supervision, and applies strong technical judgment in complex, dynamic environments regulated by MSHA and other agencies. The successful candidate will balance strategic alignment, geotechnical safety, environmental compliance, and operational execution while ensuring early development work supports the full Life of Mine (LOM) plan. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 5–8+ years of experience in large-scale open-pit mining. Expertise in industry-standard mine planning software, specifically Deswik or Hexagon, and Civil 3D.
