Overview:
- Grind, deburr, sand, brush, blend, and polish fabricated metal parts
- Produce consistent finishes to customer specs
- Remove weld discoloration, scratches, burrs, and surface imperfections
- Read blueprints, travelers, and work instructions
- Inspect finished parts for cosmetic, dimensional, and quality standards
- Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, sanders, and polishing equipment safely
- Select appropriate abrasives, pads, and compounds by material/finish type
- Verify work with calipers, tape measures, squares, and finish samples
Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Manufacturing/metal fabrication experience preferred
Experience with stainless steel finishing, polishing, grinding, or deburring preferred
Blueprint-reading ability
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Safe use of hand/power tools
Basic math and measurement skills
