Job OpportunityThis position involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care tailored to the individual needs of patients based on their age, culture, and condition. The role includes assessing patients, identifying health problems, anticipating changes in their condition, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to implement and revise plans of care.Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols and age-specific standards.Participate in multidisciplinary patient care conferences as needed.Advocate for patients and their families by promoting their interests and intervening appropriately.Reassess and evaluate patient responses to care, making necessary adjustments to ensure their needs are met.Provide appropriate documentation to substantiate patient care provided.Demonstrate leadership in daily unit activities.RequirementsValid RN Licensure in CaliforniaBasic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificationNational Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificationManagement of Aggressive Behavior (MAB) trainingExperience and SkillsPreferred previous charge experience in a nursing setting.Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.Familiarity with the Epic charting system is required.Experience in community hospital or Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) preferred.Experience in Trauma Level I or II settings preferred.Clinical SkillsAccessing and managing ports.Administration of chemotherapy and blood products.Central line care and management.Care for ventilated patients and management of dysrhythmias.Proficient in administering continuous IV sedation and managing arterial lines.Skilled in neuro intensive care and post-cardiac surgery management.Ability to perform procedural sedation administration and monitoring.Unit InformationPatient demographics include adults and geriatric patients. The daily census is approximately 11 patients within a 12-bed unit. The unit provides care for conditions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, diabetic ketoacidosis, respiratory failures, and various post-operative management scenarios.Scheduling DetailsWork schedule consists of 3 shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30.Weekend coverage is required, with 2 patients per nurse ratio established for all shifts.Max time off is limited to 7 days per contract.LocationThis position is based in a healthcare facility located in [City, State].
