The bank is seeking a Senior IMA Project Manager to join a major Capital Markets transformation initiative focused on the Internal Models Approach (IMA). The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the timely execution of deliverables across multiple workstreams while bringing strong subject matter expertise across Capital Markets, Market Risk, regulatory capital, and IMA requirements.

This is a highly visible role that will work closely with senior leaders and Global Markets stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Finance, Operations, Product Control, and Technology.

Candidates must have hands-on experience working on and delivering IMA-related initiatives.

Job Title: Senior IMA Project Manager – Capital Markets & Market Risk

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid, 3 days per week in office)

Duration: 09 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project management and transformation initiatives focused on Capital Markets regulatory, risk, audit, control, and risk management requirements.
• Drive execution of IMA deliverables across multiple workstreams, ensuring timelines, dependencies, risks, and issues are actively managed.
• Apply strong knowledge of Markets products, regulatory capital, Market Risk, VaR/HVaR, and/or Credit Risk to support functional and sustainable solutions.
• Partner with Global Markets stakeholders across Trading, Finance, Operations, Technology, Risk Management, Product Control, and Front Office.
• Gather and translate business requirements and work closely with Technology teams to support translation into technical requirements.
• Manage internal and external dependencies across complex initiatives and coordinate closely with Risk Managers, Product Owners, Front Office, Product Control, and Technology teams.
• Proactively identify project challenges, risks, and issues and drive resolution or timely escalation to appropriate stakeholders and project leadership.
• Prepare accurate and insightful project status updates, executive materials, governance artifacts, and committee presentations, tailoring content to different stakeholder groups.
• Build strong relationships across a global organization and promote a collaborative, joined-up approach to program execution.
• Support target-state design and drive changes to business processes and practices through effective stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor project performance, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 10–15+ years of relevant Capital Markets / Financial Services experience.
• Proven experience in project management and delivery of IMA-specific initiatives.
• Direct experience delivering IMA components such as ES, NMRF, RFET, PLAT, or related IMA workstreams.
• Strong Market Risk experience with familiarity with HVaR model management.
• Experience with FRTB and/or other significant Front Office-driven regulatory initiatives.
• Strong understanding of derivatives trading, risk, and P&L flows.
• Significant experience leading Capital Markets transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple global stakeholders and workstreams.
• Strong understanding of Markets business, products, regulatory capital, and Market Risk and/or Credit Risk.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and influence senior stakeholders and executives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, follow-up, and risk/issue management capabilities.
• Ability to drive business change and work effectively across a global organization with diverse stakeholder perspectives.
• Strong experience developing project governance, tracking performance, and communicating progress to senior forums.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering Markets, Risk, Regulatory, and Capital Markets transformation programs.
• Bachelor’s/University degree in a relevant discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
• PMP or equivalent Project Management certification is a strong plus.
• Experience with JIRA and Agile delivery frameworks.
