Locum - Physician - OB/GYN Petersburg, VA

Practice Setting: OBGYN Hospital/Call + potential for clinic coverage. Must be willing/able to cover both to be considered for this need. If taking clinic, night call would not be required after clinic days.

Dates of Coverage: May 1-3, 6, 11, 14, 20; June 1, 4, 15, 18, 22, 26-28; July 2, 4-5, 20, 24-26, 30.

May's in-office clinic days: May 7th, 12th, 21st, and 26th.

Reason for Coverage: One provider will be out for a few weeks for personal time.

Call Ratio: 1 to 4

Total Number of Beds: 9 in L&D and 20 postpartum

Number of Physicians in Practice: 4

Support Staff: OBHG hospitalist, surgical assistants, 3 to 4 nurses per shift

Average number of nursery admissions per day: 2 to 3

Average callback per 24-hour shift: Less than 1, with calls managed through answering service

Documentation System/EMR: EPIC

Procedures Required: C-section, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, abnormal bleeding. MFM will handle most high-risk patients, and unreferred patients are managed by the Laborist in-hospital for deliveries and rounding.

Credentialing: Takes 60-90 days; temporary approval possible if provider has a clean background and no malpractice.

Preferences: Local candidates preferred. Open to paying full travel expenses.

Hourly Pay Rate ($): $19.50
