Job Title & Location HazMat / HazWaste Coordinator – Coronado, CA Start Date: 1 August 2026 contingent on award Clearance: Active SECRET Clearance Required Job Description We are seeking a specialized HazMat/HazWaste Coordinator to manage the control, storage, disposal, and inventory of hazardous waste and materials for the Transportation Department. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with "cradle to grave" provisions as a "generator of hazardous waste" per EPA regulations. Ensure hazardous waste is properly identified, labeled, contained, segregated, and turned in prior to 90-day storage limits. Maintain the Transportation's Authorized Users List (AUL) of ~200 hazardous materials and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Maintain records for the HazMat/HazWaste Program (waste profile sheets, lab analysis, manifests/bills of lading) for three years. Conduct weekly inspections on accumulation areas at NAB Coronado and OLF Imperial Beach. Mandatory Qualifications Must be able to operate a vehicle up to 5 tons, 4k/6k warehouse forklifts, and a 10,000-pound rough terrain forklift. Must be Navy Hazardous Waste Facility Operators Course (A-493-0076) certified (or industry equivalent 40-hour resident course). Must possess Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) certification (40 CFR 262). Must possess 24-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Course certification. Must hold a valid state driver's license and an active SECRET security clearance.
