In this role, you will lead design efforts for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger, more complex work. You will help deliver engineering solutions and advice to clients through analysis, design, and implementation oversight of structural systems for buildings and other structures.You will work closely with engineers, consultants, and cross-functional teams to support project execution, budgeting, scheduling, mentoring, and client communication. also open to Cedar Rapids or Davenport, IA; Peoria or Rock Island, IL; or Madison, WIDiscipline: StructuralMarkets: Structural; Commercial; InstitutionalOwnership: 100% employee-owned (ESOP)Travel: Up to 10%Work Schedule: Full-time hybridSponsorship: Not availableWhat You'll DoLead analysis and design of structural systems using a variety of building materials.Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools according to code requirements and IMEG standards.Work with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.Support consulting project execution as part of a project team.Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling efforts to meet deadlines and objectives.Document design decisions and client instructions, and monitor design progress related to percent complete and fee expended.Analyze engineering problems and develop practical, efficient solutions with senior engineers and consultants.Perform in-process reviews of structural designs, calculations, and specifications, and implement quality control processes to meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and structural engineering best practices, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.Prioritize safety, act ethically and professionally, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.Identify potential project problems, seek advice from the Project Manager, and support projects through bidding, design, and construction administration phases.What You'll BringEducation and ExperienceBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) License Preferred2 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industrySkills and AbilitiesProficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specificationsStrong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in mechanics and materials, load paths, design techniques, design standards including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and other structuresAbility to train and mentor less experienced staffProficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools including structural engineering design and analysis softwareExcellent communication and interpersonal skills;
