Position Summary

St. George’s Episcopal School seeks a compassionate, enthusiastic, detail-oriented and experienced Director of Enrollment Management. This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Head of School. The Director of Enrollment Management provides strategic leadership for the school’s comprehensive enrollment efforts—including admission, retention, re-enrollment, financial aid and enrollment marketing—to achieve the school’s enrollment and net tuition revenue goals in direct support of its mission and vision.

This role holds primary responsibility for the recruitment, enrollment, retention and re-enrollment of students and oversees the full enrollment lifecycle, from outreach and application review through enrollment decision-making, retention strategy and financial aid administration, while supporting the thoughtful integration of new families into the St. George’s community. In partnership with school leadership, the Director develops and executes data-informed enrollment strategies that balance mission alignment, student needs, family experience and long-term financial sustainability. The Director of Enrollment Management manages and supervises the Admissions Coordinator and Admissions Screener and leads Admission Committee meetings, guiding collaborative and mission-aligned decision making. The Director also serves as a member of the school’s administrative leadership team and works closely with the Head of School, senior administrators and faculty to advance enrollment and retention priorities. In addition, the Director serves on the Board of Trustees’ Marketing and Admission Committee, providing regular updates, analysis and strategic insight related to enrollment trends, retention and market positioning.

The Director of Enrollment Management is responsible for managing the financial aid process with care, confidentiality and consistency, ensuring that awards are aligned with institutional priorities, enrollment goals and available resources. Working closely with the Head of School and Chief Financial Officer, the Director helps shape tuition and financial aid strategy to optimize net tuition revenue while advancing access and affordability. This position requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment and the ability to communicate financial aid decisions clearly and compassionately. Given the relational nature of the work, the Director of Enrollment Management must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills, along with a genuine empathy for prospective and current families. 

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Develop, lead and execute a comprehensive, data-informed enrollment management plan that integrates recruitment, admission, retention and re-enrollment to meet the school’s annual and long-range enrollment goals
• Support the mission of St. George’s and be knowledgeable about all aspects of school life in order to communicate our school value proposition with prospective and current parents as well as the community at large
• Maintain a working knowledge of curriculum, developmental stages and culture within each division to ensure information is accurately shared with prospective families
• Seek to understand the school landscape and climate of New Orleans—especially the independent, Catholic and charter school options in direct competition with St. George’s
• Formulate forward-thinking, strategic recruitment and retention strategy while also managing day-to-day admission and enrollment responsibilities
• Contribute to the standards of the school by recruiting and retaining students who will benefit from and enrich the school’s unique culture and programmatic offerings, including the school’s commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community
• Conduct Nursery to 8th grade tours, ensuring consistency in messaging and experience with other tour givers
• Carry out admissions procedures to gather information on prospective students, including visiting schools, meeting students, talking to parents, reaching out to school personnel/teachers and talking to any outside supports (i.e. counselors, interventionists)
• With the Admissions Coordinator, plan special programs for prospective, incoming and current students and family members (i.e. Open Houses, information coffees, etc.)
• Chair the Admission Committee, assigning reading and committee assignments for applicant review, and meet regularly with the Administrative Team regarding enrollment and retention activity
• Develop and lead a proactive, year-round retention strategy in partnership with the Division Directors and Advancement Team, using family feedback and engagement data to strengthen the family experience and support re-enrollment
• Work closely and collaborate with the Division Directors and Advancement Team to enact retention-focused efforts, supporting faculty and staff in understanding their day-to-day impact on family retention
• Coordinate and manage the school’s annual re-enrollment process, including contract extension, communications and follow-up, financial aid awards and Q&A
• Track ex-missions and interview families for insights about their decision to leave the school, reporting trends and findings to the Head of School and relevant committees
• Administer the school’s financial aid program in partnership with the Chief Financial Officer, and effectively support families through the application process
• In partnership with the Head of School and Chief Financial Officer, help develop tuition and financial aid strategy that leverages available resources to meet enrollment goals, optimize net tuition revenue and advance access and affordability
• Serve as the school’s primary point of contact for the Finalsite Enrollment and Clarity platforms
• Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives and Admissions Coordinator to develop the school’s multichannel marketing and admission communications strategy
• Build enrollment forecasts, budgets and models, and set, monitor and report on key enrollment, yield and retention goals throughout the year
• Monitor and analyze admissions funnel data and history for marketing and messaging efficacy, developing strategies and tactics based on trends
• Maintain and interpret key statistics and data points regarding enrollment, geographical distribution of students, financial aid, yield, retention and attrition; interpret these statistics, when appropriate, to the administration, Finance Committee and Board of Trustees
• Foster and maintain high ethical standards, integrity and respect for colleagues, alumni, parents and students throughout the enrollment process, following the NAIS Principles of Good Practice for Admission and Enrollment Management
• Promote good relationships with outside institutions or groups that can be helpful in attracting students
• Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives and Admissions Coordinator to design and purchase marketing materials and update website information
• Attend Advancement Team meetings, collaborating with the departments regarding prospective, current and ex-mission families
• Report directly to the Head of School, serving also as a liaison to the Board of Trustees regarding enrollment, admission, retention and financial aid awards
• Serve as a member of the Advancement Team, Tuition Review Committee and Marketing & Admission Committee
• Coordinate and communicate frequently with the school’s Business Office regarding contract deposits, tuition, financial aid awards and annual budgeting
• Lead, supervise and develop the enrollment team, including the Admissions Coordinator and Admissions Screener, setting goals and supporting their professional growth
• Manage the enrollment and admission budget
• Maintain confidentiality of documents and information received
• Maintain logs and complete required training in accordance with St. George’s and state licensing standards: visitor log, required services log, CPR training, background checks, mandated reporter training, etc.
• Complete a twice-weekly carpool duty and support other administrative tasks as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, business, communications, marketing or similar field required; master’s degree preferred
• Seven or more years of admission, enrollment management or closely related experience, preferably in independent schools, with a record of progressively responsible leadership
• Demonstrated success developing and executing enrollment strategy that advances recruitment, retention and net tuition revenue goals
• Strong data fluency, including the ability to analyze enrollment funnel, retention and financial aid data and translate it into strategy and clear reporting for senior leadership and the board
• Experience administering or helping to shape financial aid, with sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
• An understanding of child development and a love for children
• Backend experience and proficiency with a CRM, EMS or SIS required; experience with Finalsite Enrollment and/or Clarity preferred
• Enthusiasm for the job and a positive, supportive customer service approach and ability to work hard to support and strengthen the school’s brand across New Orleans
• Willingness to work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends for enrollment- and admission-related events, tours, etc.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team; ability to work collaboratively with parents, faculty members and Division Directors
• Exceptional communication skills, including outstanding written, verbal, public speaking and presentation skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency with Google Suite products
