Project Controls Advisor

CMC Project Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Controls Advisor to support a major capital program for one of our clients in The Woodlands, Texas. This role is ideal for a seasoned project controls professional with expertise in cost management, scheduling, risk management, and executive reporting. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to project leadership by providing actionable insights, communicating project health, and helping drive informed business decisions. This position has an immediate need and is expected to start as soon as possible. Compensation: Highly competitive and commensurate with experience. Our client is willing to pay for the right candidate. Responsibilities Develop and maintain integrated project controls processes across cost, schedule, and risk. Analyze project performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Prepare executive‑level project controls reports, dashboards, and presentations. Provide schedule, cost, and risk analysis to support project decision making. Present findings and recommendations to project and executive leadership. Work closely with project managers, engineering, construction, and business stakeholders. Support forecasting, planning, and performance reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Help establish best practices and improve project controls processes. Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience in project controls for large capital projects. Strong background in cost management, scheduling, and risk management. Experience preparing executive‑level reports and communicating project performance. Ability to interpret project data and provide meaningful recommendations. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence project teams and confidently explain project risks, impacts, and recommended actions. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting utility, energy, power generation, transmission, or industrial projects. Experience with Primavera P6 and other project controls systems. Experience developing project controls dashboards and executive reporting. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
