Job Title: Cleanroom Technician (PVS)

Pay : $18.00 to $20.70 an hour depending on shift and position

Job Description

This role supports multiple cleanroom production areas, including automatic and manual plate rooms and a tubes department, where you help produce, package, and prepare laboratory media and related products in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You work on your feet throughout the shift, follow detailed work instructions, complete documentation, and support consistent product quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Automatic Plates Room (APR) and Manual Plates Room (MPR) to support production of media that is dispensed into petri dishes.
• Handle petri dishes, including cleaning and preparing them for production processes.
• Work in areas where you may see bags containing sheep’s blood and ensure safe and compliant handling of materials.
• Perform tasks in the Tubes (TVS) department, including sorting, packaging, labeling, and palletizing tubes and related products.
• Follow production, packaging, and quality assurance procedures to ensure products meet established standards.
• Complete required production and packaging documentation accurately and legibly throughout the shift.
• Use basic math skills and a calculator to perform counts, verify quantities, and complete production records.
• Perform general labor and general production duties, including assembly line and production line activities as assigned.
• Follow work instructions carefully and consistently to maintain product integrity and compliance.
• Inspect products and packaging for defects or inconsistencies and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain cleanroom and production area cleanliness by performing cleaning tasks in accordance with procedures.
• Use good hand dexterity to handle small components, petri dishes, tubes, and packaging materials.
• Lift, twist, and push up to 30 pounds repetitively while performing production and packaging tasks.
• Stand and work on your feet for the entire shift in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including use of personal protective equipment such as hair nets, safety glasses, and face coverings.
• Work effectively in small groups or independently to meet production goals and schedules.
• Be flexible and available to work required overtime, including additional days or extended shifts during busy seasons.
• Comply with all company policies, including attendance and work performance expectations.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to stand on your feet for the full shift in a production environment.
• Ability to lift, twist, and push up to 30 pounds repetitively.
• Ability to speak, read, and write basic English to follow work instructions and complete documentation.
• Ability to work comfortably in a production manufacturing and cleanroom environment.
• Comfort working around biological media and materials, including exposure to bags containing sheep’s blood.
• Ability to perform basic math using a calculator for counts and production records.
• Willingness and ability to work required overtime, including occasional additional days or extended hours.
• Capability to perform general labor, general production, and warehouse-related tasks.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures consistently.
• Willingness to undergo and fully clear background and drug screening prior to starting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in production, manufacturing, or cleanroom environments.
• background in packaging, packing, or warehouse operations.
• Experience working on production lines or assembly lines.
• Prior exposure to quality assurance, inspection, or documentation of packaging procedures.
• Comfort working in environments with yeast or vinegar odors (for Building 1) and louder areas such as glass tube production.
• Strong hand dexterity for handling small components and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
• Entry-level candidates with an interest in manufacturing and cleanroom work are welcome.

Work Environment

You work in a climate-controlled facility that may have a yeast or vinegar smell in certain buildings and louder areas where glass tubes and bottles are produced; earplugs are provided where needed. Depending on the department, you work in small groups or independently, standing for the entire shift and performing repetitive production and packaging tasks. Multiple shifts are available: APR offers first shift (Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.), second shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.), and third shift (Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.), with occasional overtime that may include an extra day or Saturdays during busy seasons. MPR offers a first shift (Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) with mandatory overtime as needed, extending shifts by approximately two hours and sometimes requiring Fridays. The Tubes (TVS) area offers a first shift (Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) and a second shift (Monday–Thursday, 4:15 p.m.–2:45 a.m.), with occasional overtime that may include additional days or Fridays during peak periods. The dress code includes safety shoes (steel or composite toe), with jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or scrubs allowed as long as they are appropriate. The company provides and requires hair nets, safety glasses, and surgical-style face coverings to support cleanroom and safety standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.55/hr.
