Founding Tax Lead | Early-Stage AI Portfolio Company

One of our very early-stage portfolio companies is building an AI-powered tax engine and they are looking to hire a Founding Tax Lead to join the business.

Responsibilities

• Translate real-world tax workflows into product improvements
• Prepare and review individual income tax returns
• Identify tax edge cases, complex scenarios, and ways to break the product
• Bring your tax preparation experience to help shape the product roadmap
• Work directly with engineers to explain tax rules and expected outcomes

Qualifications

• A keen desire to be part of the earliest part of startup journey
• Certified Public Accountant. Experienced Enrolled Agents may also be considered
• Experience preparing individual tax returns (1040s) using professional tax software such as ProSystem, GoSystem, UltraTax, CCH, Lacerte, and Drake
• Experienced reviewing tax returns, not just preparing them
• Strong understanding of U.S. federal individual income tax
• Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and organization skills
