Head of Finance

Opus is a New York–based group spanning high‑end interior design, construction project delivery, and hospitality operations, including a design studio, active construction projects, a restaurant portfolio, and affiliated entities. About the Role We are hiring a Head of Finance to serve as the primary financial operator across the Opus group. This is a hands‑on leadership role owning financial reporting, project accounting, intercompany structuring, cash management, and team oversight, working directly with the CEO as his principal financial partner. What You'll Do Produce project‑level P&L analysis across active construction and design projects, including cost‑to‑complete and remaining‑receipts reporting Prepare cash bridge analyses, break‑even studies, and P&L reporting for restaurant operations Build and maintain annual Actual vs. Forecast workbooks and executive dashboards Prepare weekly payment approval dashboards for CEO sign‑off; structure vendor payment plans and monitor cash position across entities Manage intercompany accounting: due‑to/due‑from reconciliation, monthly close, quarterly settlement, and transactions related to acquisitions Establish and enforce payment authorization controls; draft internal directives and financial policies Support HR operations: employment contracts, policy drafts, and documentation Manage a small finance/operations team and coordinate with studio directors, partners, and contractors What We're Looking For 5+ years of progressive finance experience, including controllership or head‑of‑finance responsibility, ideally in a multi‑entity environment Strong project‑based accounting expertise (construction and/or hospitality strongly preferred) Experience with intercompany accounting, consolidations, and internal controls Ability to build automated reporting (Excel required; Python a plus) French language skills a plus Comfortable operating with high autonomy in a fast‑moving, founder‑led environment Compensation $120,000–$150,000 annual base salary, commensurate with experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr OPUS Interior
