SAP Supply Chain Technical Architect

Location: Rahway, NJ

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 6 months
• Pay Rate: $75.00 $80.00 / Hour (USD)
• Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to Rahway, NJ may be required for architecture workshops and design sessions, typically as requested by the client

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a SAP Supply Chain Technical Architect to support a future-state operating model and warehouse/logistics transformation initiative. This consultant will be responsible for translating business and process design into a build-ready technical architecture across SAP, warehouse management, logistics, enterprise integration, 3PL connectivity, data flows, and system interface design. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience across SAP ECC/S/4HANA, SAP WM/EWM , supply chain and logistics platforms, enterprise integration architecture, API/middleware design, and 3PL integration. This role will partner closely with enterprise architecture, business, functional, and implementation teams to define the architecture, technical specifications, integration patterns, and implementation considerations required to support downstream build activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of end-to-end technical architecture supporting the client's future-state warehouse, logistics, and supply chain operating model.
• Define SAP and non-SAP application architecture across the broader supply chain and logistics technology ecosystem.
• Develop reference architecture, integration architecture, interface patterns, system interaction models, and technical architecture documentation.
• Define data architecture, data flows, source-to-target mappings, and system interface requirements.
• Translate future-state business requirements and operating model design into implementation-ready technical specifications.
• Support architecture workshops with client enterprise architecture, business, functional, and technical stakeholders.
• Design integration approaches for 3PL providers, warehouse technology platforms, logistics systems, middleware, APIs, and enterprise applications.
• Identify technical dependencies, risks, assumptions, constraints, and implementation considerations.
• Provide build-readiness guidance and documentation for future implementation teams.
• Ensure architecture decisions align with enterprise standards, scalability requirements, and supply chain process objectives.

Required Skills

• 12 years of experience in technical architecture, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or systems integration roles.
• Deep experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA architecture.
• Strong knowledge of SAP WM and/or SAP EWM .
• Proven experience supporting warehouse management, logistics, distribution, supply chain, and material management processes.
• Strong background in 3PL integration architecture and external partner system connectivity.
• Experience designing enterprise integration patterns, APIs, middleware interfaces, and system-to-system communication models.
• Strong data architecture experience, including data flow design, source-to-target mapping, and interface data requirements.
• Ability to create technical specifications, architecture models, system interaction diagrams, and implementation-ready design documentation.
• Experience with UML, architecture modeling, and enterprise architecture documentation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with enterprise architects, functional teams, business stakeholders, and implementation teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting large-scale SAP transformation, supply chain modernization, warehouse enablement, or logistics integration programs.
• Experience working with client enterprise architecture teams in a consulting or project-based environment.
• Familiarity with hybrid SAP/non-SAP landscapes involving warehouse, transportation, logistics, middleware, API, and data platforms.
• Ability to operate independently as a senior advisory resource while producing clear, build-ready technical deliverables.

Required Experience

• The ideal candidate is a senior technical architect who can bridge business process design and technical implementation. They should be comfortable leading architecture discussions, defining SAP and non-SAP system interactions, designing integration and data flows, and producing the technical specifications required for delivery teams to move into build and implementation.
