We have 25+ veterinarians, 50+ technicians, 20+ assistants and 20+ client service representatives. We work side-by-side with different specialty practices (neurology, cardiology, internal medicine, oncology, surgery, ophthalmology) and care for their patients overnight./ppShift times available:/pp6AM-4PM/pp2PM-12AM/pp10PM-8AM/pp***Generous shift differential***/pulliAdditional $2 per hour between 4p-12a/liliAdditional $5.5 per hour between 12a-8a/li/ulh3What Youll Get to Do/h3pAs a veterinary technician you will commonly:/pulliAssess patients upon arrival and prioritize them based on their health status after obtaining vitals/liliInitiate stabilization treatments such as intravenous catheterization, blood collection, fluid therapy, oxygen therapy and administering medications as directed by veterinarian/liliParticipate in the development and implementation of treatment plans created by the veterinarian/liliAdministers high quality patient care through timely monitoring; correctly performs treatments as directed by veterinarian/liliCollect and analyze blood, urine, fecal and skin samples in our in-house laboratory full of Idexx analyzers/liliAdminister anesthetic drugs and adjust them as needed during procedures and surgery, while recording and monitoring vital signs/liliProduce images of soft-tissues, organs and bones safely with digital radiography equipment/liliPlace nasoesophageal and nasogastric feeding tubes for critical nutrition by mastering various suturing techniques/liliSupply patients in need with packed red blood cell and frozen plasma transfusions/liliCorrectly calculates drug dosages and administers drugs as directed by veterinarian, including medication CRIs/liliLavage and assist in bandaging different wounds and lacerations/liliProvide top quality care for post-surgical cases, including specialty ICU cases/liliProvides outstanding customer service when triaging, gathering patient information and relevant history/li/ulpTime off/ppAt AAVEC we believe in work-life balance and a healthy lifestyle which means the shift you are hired for is the shift time you will work every shift.
