As a Principal Project Engineer – Level 3 located in Promontory, UT, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. The preferred location for this role is Promontory, UT. May consider one of the following major Space sector locations: Magna, UT.The Project Engineer is responsible for establishment and execution of all technical aspects of Development, Qualification, and Production of a Hypersonic rocket motor. These positions will manage the technical products and aspects associated with the design, engineering & manufacturing development (EMD), qualification, and the follow-on production phases. The Project Engineer may also be responsible for the scale up of products, processes, tooling, and facilities for low rate and high rate production. Fast paced development programs offer the potential for the Project Engineer to work with a variety of resources/teams/divisions and witness the entirety of the programs engineering lifecycle. Currently there are three potential Project Engineer job openings depending upon the candidates interests and abilities.This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Coordinates across IPTs with fellow PEs on design, process, and quality of the productDevelop program execution plans and works closely with the Program OfficeRequired to interface with Customer regularly as the technical POCAbility to work with a wide range of positions both within and outside of NGCSupports production operations (manufacturing and quality)Development, coordination, and allocation of requirementsAssemble and develop efficient cross functional teams to execute plansIdentify design concepts and mature into design solutions that meet the customer needsDevelop master schedules, integrated logic flows, work breakdown, and assist in program cost estimates.Coordination and implementation of design and analysis activitiesDevelopment of test plans and coordination of testing with test engineersIdentification of risks/mitigations and tracking to closure in Risk TrackerLead the coordination and conducting of milestones reviews to Senior Leadership and CustomersLead problem and failure investigationsWrite technical reportsPresentations – internal and externalAbility to Travel expectation of 5% – 10%Other duties as assignedWhy you? S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, firearms and explosives; "Employee Possessor" – requiredPreferred Qualifications:Experience in rocket motor designStrong understanding and broad application of PS engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) or equivalentDemonstrated experience in generating technical solutions in the absence of complete customer requirementsManagement of engineering scope as it pertains to budgeting and participation in EVMS evaluationsExperience with the proposal processKnowledge and experience in System Engineering tools and disciplinesKnowledge of lean manufacturing and design for manufacturabilityPrimary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
